Background
Dr. Rajalakshmi completed medical school from PSG Institute of Medical Sciences and Research in India followed by General Psychiatry residency training at the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Science and Research, India. She spent three years at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences as a Senior Resident doctor in the Department of Psychiatry after which she moved to the USA and worked as a Research Scholar at the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the Zucker Hillside Hospital, New York.
She subsequently pursued residency at the Drexel University, Department of Psychiatry, and went on to complete training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School with Massachusetts General Hospital and McLean Hospital in Boston, MA.
Dr. Rajalakshmi nurtures a special interest in treating children and adolescents with Obsessive-compulsive disorder as well as Anxiety and mood disorders.
She has pursued research interests across varied clinical areas within Psychiatry over the past years that have culminated in peer-reviewed publications as well as presentations in national and international conferences. She has also harbored a keen interest in writing and sharing narrative accounts of her experiences within medical practice.
