Connect the Docs
Connect the Docs are virtual opportunities for medical students to connect with alumni to gain career advice and share experiences, all in a casual, conversational setting. Connect the Docs features alumni from diverse specialties, backgrounds and career experiences. All programs are hosted on Zoom. Participants should be prepared to be on camera and participate in the conversation.
Capacity is limited to 25 attendees per session. The School of Medicine Alumni Relations team will provide Grubhub gift cards to attendees.
Interested in the Healthcare Administration? Connect the Docs with Dr. Christine Hale, MD ’00, MBA

Dr. Christine Hale joined Lockton Dunning Benefits as Vice President in 2017 and serves as the medical director and lead strategist for the clinical consulting team. Dr. Hale is known as an innovator, collaborator and change agent, and is particularly passionate about utilizing data and creative solutions to reduce waste and improve cost effectiveness in health care. As a consultant, she worked with hospitals and health systems in a variety of functional areas, including strategy, operations and organization and was often sought out to facilitate in situations where building physician and administration alignment was key. This Connect the Docs will be of particular interest to those interested in healthcare administration.

Join Dr. Xin (Linda) Zhou, assistant professor of clinical neurology at Temple University, as she discusses her time as a student at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, her neurology residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, and her fellowship in neurocritical care at Mass General Hospital and Brigham and Women's Hospital.
MedTalks
MedTalks are in-person lunch conversations with MD-PhD and PhD alumni working outside of academic settings. Current MD-PhD and PhD students are invited to learn about career paths and gain insights from alumni experiences.

A Conversation with Dr. Raymond Cheong, MD-PhD ’14

Dr. Raymond Cheong is a managing director at Baker Brothers Investments. While completing his M.D.-Ph.D. in biomedical engineering, he was awarded the Michael A. Shanoff Award for best thesis research within the School of Medicine. Dr. Cheong serves on the board of Istari Oncology, Inc. and previously served on the board of Talis Biomedical Corporation.

Join Dr. Allan Jensen for dinner at The Center Club to discuss life at Johns Hopkins and beyond. Dr. Jensen is a familiar face and name at the Wilmer Eye Institute. As a well-known member of the ophthalmology community, Dr. Jensen graduated from Johns Hopkins in 1968, became chief resident at the Wilmer Eye Institute (and now serves on its Board of Governors), and opened a solo practice in 1976. Dr. Jensen has served as president of MedChi, the Maryland Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons, and the American Society of Ophthalmology. Dr. Jensen is also a patron of Baltimore arts and culture including chairing the Baltimore Opera Company, serving as vice president of the Lyric Opera Baltimore, and serving on the boards of the Enoch Pratt Free Library, the Johns Hopkins Sheridan Library, and the Peabody Institute.
Capacity is limited to 10 medical students, but we will maintain a waitlist for those interested.
