Background
Dr. David H. Madoff completed a joint M.D.-Ph.D. program at UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in 1983. His doctoral thesis in biochemistry described post-translation processing of the large glycoprotein of the LaCrosse encephalitis virus. He completed his internship, residency, and fellowship in endocrinology at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in 1989. During his fellowship, Dr. Madoff worked in the laboratory of Dr. M. Daniel Lane and identified the major cytosolic insulin receptor substrate in 3T3-L1 adipocytes. From 1989 until 2006 Dr. Madoff was in endocrine private practice and served as Chief of the Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism at the Good Samaritan Hospital of Maryland. In 1995 Dr. Madoff co-chaired a national American Diabetes Association symposium entitled: “Caring for the Diabetic Lower Extremity”. From 2006 until 2020 Dr. Madoff was in private endocrine practice in Pikesville, MD.
Dr. Madoff lives with his wife Saundra in Owings Mills. They have five children and seven grandchildren. Dr. Madoff is an avid music fan and an aspiring jazz and classical flutist. Dr. Madoff loves to hike with his wife, and he is a devoted exerciser.
