MILESTONES Angie's Story

When Angie was diagnosed with olfactory neuroblastoma, A rare cancer in the upper part of her nasal cavity, she turned to Johns Hopkins Medicine for care. After her surgical resection, Angie underwent adjuvant proton therapy at the Johns Hopkins Proton Therapy Center in Washington, DC. Angie credits Johns Hopkins' multi-disciplinary approach of surgery and proton therapy for a personalized and effective treatment that left her in remission. Johns Hopkins Medicine and Children’s National provide pediatric radiation therapy at Sibley Memorial Hospital, including proton therapy. Through our collaboration, two national leaders in pediatric cancer provide advanced radiation therapy and high-quality care for our youngest patients. It is the first program of its kind in the Washington, D.C., region.
