The Armstrong Institute for Patient Safety and Quality leads regional, national and international projects that reduce preventable harm, improve patient and clinical outcomes, and decrease health care costs. In 2011, C. Michael Armstrong made a $10 million gift to create The Armstrong Institute, dedicated to increasing patient safety and reducing medical errors within the Johns Hopkins system as well as at hospitals and medical centers around the world.

The Armstrong Institute has pioneered a culture of accountability and patient safety advances that aim to eliminate preventable harms, improve patient experiences and health outcomes, and reduce waste in health care delivery.
