Who We Are

The Muscular Dystrophy Association Center at Johns Hopkins is staffed by a team of health care professionals committed to offering help at present and hope for a brighter future to patients and families dealing with the challenge of neuromuscular disease.

Our team members are skilled in the diagnosis of these disorders and the medical management of their symptoms. As a matter of fact, many of the current therapies used in the treatment of patients with neuromuscular disease were developed by Johns Hopkins scientists and physicians.

In addition, our team's physicians are leaders in the scientific community, dedicated to finding the cause of and cure for neuromuscular diseases. In addition to muscular dystrophies, we treat many other types of muscle disorders --- inherited nerve disorders, motor neuron disease and disorders of the neuromuscular junction. In this site, we have highlighted some of the more common diseases, diagnosis and treatment.

Our primary focus is on the patients’ health and quality of life. When an individual is diagnosed with a neuromuscular condition, he or she is best served by entering into a lifelong partnership with the clinical team. We look forward to forming that unique partnership with you.
