Pediatric Pulmonary Medicine
The mission of the Eudowood Division of Pediatric Respiratory Sciences is to improve the health of children with respiratory disorders by providing exemplary patient- and family-centered care, performing research to understand the mechanisms of disease, developing new therapies and training the next generation of health care providers. Our physicians have the expertise to evaluate and treat a wide variety of problems, including asthma, acute and chronic pulmonary infections, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, sleep-disordered breathing, chronic cough, cystic fibrosis, dysfunctional swallowing, end-stage lung disease, interstitial lung diseases, lung failure and breathing abnormalities.
Pulmonary Centers
- Our Pediatric Aerodigestive Program combines Johns Hopkins pulmonary, gastroenterology, dysphagia, otolaryngology and speech-language pathology experts under one roof to provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of complex airway and gastroenterology problems.
- The Johns Hopkins Cystic Fibrosis Center is dedicated to the study and treatment of cystic fibrosis (CF). The center is accredited by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. We provide multidisciplinary care to more than 250 children and 350 adults with CF.
- Our Pediatric Sleep Center is dedicated to the care of children from infancy to adolescence with sleep-disordered breathing, neuromuscular disease and chronic respiratory failure. Our polysomnography laboratories, which are accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, are located at five sites throughout Maryland.
- The Johns Hopkins Global Program in Pediatric Respiratory Sciences works to synergize capacity building in clinical education and research to advance the respiratory health of children in low-income and middle-income countries.
