Founded in 1992, the Howard Hospital Foundation is a private, non-profit organization entrusted to provide philanthropic support of Howard County General Hospital: A Member of Johns Hopkins Medicine.

We are governed by a Board of Trustees, which guides our efforts to raise and manage funds for the hospital. Through the generosity of many caring and compassionate donors, we help Howard County General Hospital respond to the health care needs of our growing community, fostering world-class medical care and wellness services in a convenient, local setting.

Community Giving Local Faith Community Gives Back

Rev. Robert Turner

Rev. Robert Turner, senior pastor at St John Baptist Church in Columbia, has strong ties to HCGH, from gratitude for the care his family has received to his position as co-chair of the HCGH Faith Health Advisory Council, which partners with faith-based organizations to prioritize health and deliver programming at places of worship.

When an opportunity arose to support the hospital’s caregivers in 2020, Turner says his congregation couldn’t sit idly by. Read about how St John's answered the call to support HCGH.

Transformational Giving Supporting Women's Health in Howard County

Kahlerts and Dr Ahmed

A $1.5 million gift from The Kahlert Foundation is advancing women’s health services in Howard County. This donation will enable HCGH to provide treatments and surgical approaches to prevent, detect and treat gynecologic cancers by bringing a Johns Hopkins Kelly Gynecologic Oncology Service clinic to the hospital's campus. Funding from the gift will also establish a new cancer peer mentor program through HCGH’s Claudia Mayer/Tina Broccolino Cancer Resource Center.

Little Patuxent Specialty Care Center

Thanks to the ongoing donor support, the Claudia Mayer / Tina Broccolino Cancer Resource Center continues to serve as a place of hope, help and support for men, women and children living with cancer. The Center was founded in 1998 in memory of Claudia Mayer, a cancer patient who lost her battle with the disease but whose memory lives on.
