The Johns Hopkins Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation provides a three-year (PGY2-4) residency program with extensive training in the evidence-based diagnosis, care and treatment of patients with disabilities. Our goal is to train leaders in the field of physical medicine and rehabilitation. We hope you will find our program exciting, fulfilling and career-enhancing.

    Residents receive a broad inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation experience, comprehensive didactics and opportunities for research.

    Our diverse group of residents includes physicians from all over the U.S., as well as other countries, representing a variety of backgrounds.

  • How to Apply

    The program has six PGY2 positions each year. Candidates should apply through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) in the fall.

  • Service obligations for residents are minimized with mid-level providers (NP or PA) assigned to each inpatient unit to assist with patient care responsibilities.
