The Johns Hopkins Wilmer Eye Institute was founded in 1925 as the nation's first university eye clinic. More than 100 Wilmer-trained ophthalmologists have gone on to become department chairs across the country and around the world.

Whether they become clinician-educators, research scientists, business leaders in ophthalmology, or private practitioners, Wilmer provides a pathway for top minds in the field to succeed, thereby advancing the study, practice and teaching of ophthalmology.
